The laptop is no longer under warranty. I'm certainly no expert, but I suspect it's a software issue, not hardware. That's because the webcam worked just fine after I re-installed Dell Webcam Central. I Skyped on Thursday 3 days ago with full webcam functionality. I've also conducted webinars recently with Go To Meeting software, and my webcam worked fine using that software. Well from the Device Manager it looks like the web cam can't be detected by Windows properly that usually means a hardware problem or the webcam cable going to the motherboard may have become partially disconnected.
